DESCRIPTION:Next Stop - Gaston County: Light Rail\, the Silver Line\, and Access to our Future\n\nJason Lawrence\, Lead Transit Planner for CATS \n\nCATS 2030 Transit Plan Update\n\nIn 2000\, Jason Lawrence joined the Charlotte Area Transit System and for the past 18 years has been the lead Transportation Planner for transit corridors in the 2030 Transit System Plan. He has also performed bus service planning\, demographic analysis\, implemented the Sprinter Airport Enhanced Bus service and was a member of the LYNX Blue Line Extension Light Rail Team. In 2016 Jason successfully guided a public process for the LYNX Silver Line Southeast Corridor Transit study that led to an approved light rail alignment from Uptown Charlotte to the Town of Matthews. Currently\, Jason is leading a study to update the 2030 Transit System Plan. This effort will conclude in December 2018 with new rapid transit recommendations for the North and West corridors and strategies to implement and complete the 2030 System Plan. In 2017 Jason was selected at the 2016 City of Charlotte Employee of the Year. Jason Lawrence has a Bachelor's Degree in Earth Science from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
