The Residential Roofing Superintendent oversees the entire process of residential roofing projects, ensuring they meet and exceed MBA Roofing's quality and safety standards. This role requires being on-site throughout each project to monitor progress, handle any changes, and address issues as they arise. A key part of the job is keeping homeowners informed with regular updates to ensure a great customer experience. After project completion, the superintendent accurately calculates crew pay to ensure all work is properly accounted for.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review each job’s contract before starting to understand the scope, challenges, and required materials.
- Check delivered materials to ensure everything is included; work with scheduler and suppliers to get any missing items.
- Enforce OSHA safety standards daily and ensure crews follow them.
- Act as the main contact between the homeowner and crew, providing updates and handling any changes.
- Track and document any changes to the job discovered during the tear-off process.
- Work with the crew to plan next steps and adjust for changes.
- Inform the Inside Sales Representative of any suggested changes and keep them updated.
- Explain changes to the homeowner, confirm their approval, and provide a cost estimate if possible.
- Log crew work hours for tasks outside the original scope in the post-job report.
- Supply the crew with any additional materials needed and record them in the report.
- Ensure quality control throughout the project and confirm work meets MBA standards.
- Conduct a final inspection and make sure any needed corrections are completed.
- Check cleanup efforts to ensure the site is left in better condition than before.
- Within 48 hours complete the crew pay form after each job.
- Recommend crew training if recurring issues arise to the service manager.
- Ensure the crew leader is present before starting any job.
- Pick up and deliver supplies for emergency jobs as needed or in preparation for future jobs as directed by the scheduler.
- Transport waste material to the dump and swap trailers when full.
- Canvass the neighborhood during idle times to inform the neighbors that we are working in the neighborhood and to let us know if any issues arise or if they would like an inspection.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Open availability Monday through Friday, some Saturdays and on-call as needed.
- Prior experience in roofing systems including shingles, low slope/flat roof applications, metal and exterior home repairs (siding, etc.)
- Ability to work strenuously (bending, lifting, stooping) throughout the day in all-weather environments.
- Basic math skills needed for construction calculations.
- Dependability: Completes tasks on time; Follows instructions, responds to management direction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Superintendent will primarily work at job sites and in the office, often exposed to a range of weather conditions, including extreme heat over 90 degrees, cold temperatures in the teens, and rain. This role requires the ability to frequently lift and move up to 70 pounds, as well as perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing, crawling, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and gripping while navigating uneven surfaces. Additionally, the Superintendent must be able to safely climb ladders up to 60 feet while carrying up to 30 pounds and correctly wear personal protective equipment.
