Business Development Representative

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for generating consistent, high-quality leads by building and maintaining strategic relationships within the community. Based in Lincolnton, NC, and covering the surrounding region, this role focuses on partnering with insurance agents, realtors, property managers, restoration companies, HOAs, and other key referral sources who regularly require roofing services.

Through regular outreach, relationship management, and participation in local events—such as fundraisers, golf tournaments, and volunteer initiatives—the BDR will position MBA Roofing as the trusted, go-to provider. This role requires a proactive, personable professional who can represent our brand with credibility and build long-term referral pipelines. The BDR reports directly to the Marketing Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Building Strategic Partnerships

  • Develop relationships with insurance agents, realtors, restoration companies, maintenance managers, and other industry professionals to generate business opportunities.
  • Engage with networking groups across the territory by attending events on a weekly, monthly, or as-needed basis.
  • Represent MBA Roofing at community events to strengthen brand presence and build relationships.
  • This role will primarily serve the western North Carolina region, covering the following counties: Lincoln, Gaston, Catawba, North Mecklenburg, Iredell, Cleveland, Burke, Caldwell, and Watauga.

Lead Generation and Follow-Up

  • Research and identify new sources for customer referrals and business opportunities.
  • Manage and schedule inspection appointments for generated leads, tracking their success to evaluate partnership value.
  • Maintain timely follow-up with referral partners using appropriate communication methods based on the relationship type.

Presentations and Marketing Collaboration

  • Deliver impactful presentations about MBA Roofing to individuals and large groups.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director to evaluate the effectiveness of lead sources and identify opportunities for improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent verbal, written, and phone communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Prior experience with CRM and email automation software is preferred.
  • Professional etiquette and demeanor.
  • Local travel required approximately 75% of the time.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Roofing experience is a plus, but not required.
